Wednesday 28th Match 2012
Queensgate Jnrs U14’s 0 DJFC U14’s 5
A small pitch and a dry surface made life difficult for both teams in our first evening game of 2012, the outcome of which was a hardworking win for DJFC. We created a lot of pressure and numerous chances but our finishing was uncharacteristically poor, with many good opportunities spurned. We reached half time two-nil up but credit to Queensgate’s defenders who had made us work very hard for it.
In the second half, we managed to get a stranglehold on the game scoring three more goals and, pleasingly, keeping a clean sheet. Final score 5-0 to us. We now sit third in the league with games against the top two to come so still plenty to play for.
Well played boys.
PS. We wish the two Owens a full and speedy recovery from illness and injury respectively.
MOTM: Andy Horton – kept it tight in the Makelele role.
